Job description

LeachGarner is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our 1st shift team and begin a career path in our Rolling Mill Program. This position is the first level of our four-level Rolling Mill progression program and is designed for manufacturing professionals looking to develop specialized rolling mill skills. Through hands-on training and demonstrated performance, you'll advance through increasing levels of responsibility, technical expertise, and pay, creating a clear pathway for long-term career growth.

4-day work week!
Hours: 4:30 am - 3:00 pm 
Monday - Thursday

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and operate precision rolling mill to reduce heavy-duty precious metal stock to a precise thickness
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings
  • Feed raw material
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift and maintains activity logs
  • Use various hand tools, micrometers, calculators and related tools
  • Maintain necessary records and move materials as necessary in performance of duties
  • May be trained in other areas as needed


Requirements:

  • Experience as a machine operator
  • Ability to read mill tickets and manuals
  • Able to understand and speak English
  • Good math skills
  • Must follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent and consistent attendance
  • Must be able to stand and move for a 10-hour shift
  • Ability to reach stoop and crouch for long periods of time
  • Visual acuity
  • Ability to lift 70+ pounds repeatedly throughout a shift utilizing safe lifting practices
