Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver).

Position Summary

The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, owning the full customer experience from order intake through delivery. This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships while driving operational alignment across Sales, Engineering, Production, and Finance.

This position goes beyond traditional customer service by taking accountability for order accuracy, delivery performance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement—ensuring customer expectations are met while supporting overall plant performance.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Own and manage assigned customer accounts, building strong, long-term partnerships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for customers
  • Proactively identify issues and drive solutions, implementing both immediate fixes and long-term corrective strategies
  • Challenge existing processes and think creatively to improve customer outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Finance to ensure alignment and execution
  • Manage the full order lifecycle from intake through delivery, ensuring accuracy and adherence to customer requirements
  • Resolve complex issues related to logistics, pricing, quality, and invoicing in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide clear, consistent, and proactive communication to both customers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, expansion, and increased customer value
  • Advocate for the customer internally, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood and met
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance flexibility, responsiveness, and overall performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in customer service, account management, or a similar customer-facing role
  • Experience in engineered-to-order and/or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build, grow, and maintain strong customer relationships across multiple levels
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer needs and align them with company capabilities
  • Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and drives issues through to resolution
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term demands with long-term account success
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, confident, and effective both written and verbal
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and results-driven with a strong sense of accountability
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Adaptable and open to change, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, logistics, or industrial environment
  • Experience with ERP systems, order management, or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms
