Grover Precision /Precision Machining Operator / Oxford, Maine
Grover Precision, a family-owned business, is seeking Machine Operators. Located in Oxford Maine since 1983 Grover is a family friendly work environment that has a great opportunity for growth. Referrals welcome!
Requirements of the Machine Operator:
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Experience with precision measurements
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Standing up to 8 hrs. a day and walking up to 6 hrs. a day
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • 1-5 years manufacturing experience
  • Machine Tool Technology training, preferred
  • Equipment operation (cranes/forklifts), Preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints/part prints, preferred
  • Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to Oxford Maine daily.

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:
  • Master all controls and processes related to gundrilling, honing, and other machines
  • Review all jobs assigned by the Production Manager or Production Supervisor to ensure that assignments are achievable in the time allotted
  • Complete shop orders within customer and company quality specifications without any material deviations
  • Coordinate with Production Manager or Production Supervisor, and Engineering/Quality Manager regarding thetiming of in-process inspections
  • Continually inspect ongoing work; notify Production Manager or Production Supervisor immediately if process appears to be out of tolerance or if there is a material deviation
  • Ensure that all paperwork necessary to complete jobs is available and have the necessary signoffs prior to start of jobs (including blueprints, routing forms, etc.)
  • Track machine time on each individual job using VTA kiosk clocking system
  • Operate machinery safely and only when another Machine Operator, the Production Manager or the Production Supervisor is on site. No machine should be operated when the Machine Operator is the only employee in the plant
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager or Production Supervisor regarding the clean-up program to maintain a clean and safe work environment
