What is precision logistics?

Precision logistics is a specialized approach to managing supply chains and delivery operations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and real-time data. It involves using technology such as GPS tracking, automation, and data analytics to ensure goods are delivered exactly when and where they are needed, minimizing delays and errors. This method helps companies optimize inventory, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of reliability and transparency throughout the logistics process.

What are some common challenges faced in a precision logistics role and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Precision Logistics often encounter challenges such as managing time-sensitive shipments, optimizing complex supply chains, and adapting to unexpected disruptions like weather or supply shortages. Addressing these hurdles requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication with cross-functional teams, and the use of advanced logistics software to track and coordinate shipments in real time. Staying organized and proactive, and regularly reviewing logistics processes, helps ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a precision logistics specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Precision Logistics Specialist, you need expertise in supply chain management, inventory control, and process optimization, often supported by a degree in logistics or operations management. Familiarity with logistics management software (like SAP or Oracle), transportation management systems, and relevant industry certifications (such as APICS or Six Sigma) is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent organizational and communication skills make professionals stand out in this field. These competencies are crucial for ensuring efficient, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods in complex supply chains.

Job description

Dimension 6 Fitness

Portland, OR

ABOUT DIMENSION 6

Dimension 6 is an exclusive Nike licensee focused on driving growth for the world's most iconic sports brand across new categories and consumers.

We lead product creation, distribution, and brand execution for the Nike Strength product line and select Nike Accessories, partnering closely with Nike World Headquarters to create products and experiences that inspire athletes and consumers worldwide.

Our culture is rooted in training, sport, and excellence. Operating from our Portland headquarters with frequent collaboration at Nike WHQ, we blend entrepreneurial energy with the discipline required to manage global Nike categories at scale.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Demand & Inventory Planning Specialist who brings analytical precision and operational discipline to our supply planning function. This role will own the demand forecasting and inventory planning process across our Strength and Jewelry product lines, ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time, at the right cost. You thrive on working with data, building reliable forecasts, and translating numbers into decisions that keep every channel stocked, every partner confident, and the business running efficiently. You're a self-starter who sees a ground-floor planning function not as a limitation, but as an opportunity to shape something from the start.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

This role will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Build and maintain rolling SKU-level demand forecasts across all sales channels, including Amazon, B2C Ecommerce, B2B Facilities, and Wholesalers, for both the Strength and Jewelry product lines
  • Own inventory position visibility across the network, including on-hand, in-transit, and on-order, and proactively flag at-risk SKUs for both stockout and overstock scenarios
  • Translate demand forecasts into clear, data-backed replenishment recommendations for the Supply Chain Director to drive PO creation and purchasing decisions
  • Monitor and optimize days-of-supply and safety stock targets by SKU, right-sizing inventory levels as forecast accuracy and planning confidence improve
  • Facilitate the S&OP process in partnership with Ecommerce and Sales, bringing forecast data and inventory constraints to the table to align demand, supply, and commercial decisions on a regular cadence
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Director on production wave timing to ensure inbound product is receipted at the right time relative to channel demand
  • Support optimization of inbound shipment timing, freight consolidation, and DC receipt planning to reduce logistics and storage costs
  • Pull and reconcile sales data from Amazon, ECOM, and B2B/wholesale partner channels; maintain planning dashboards and reporting for cross-functional stakeholder visibility
  • Work daily across ERP, Order Management, Inventory Management, and Catsy (PIM) to maintain data accuracy and planning integrity
  • Partner with Ecommerce, Sales, Product, and Finance teams to align planning with channel needs, trading partner commitments, and product launch timelines
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in the current planning process and proactively recommend improvements, helping build the planning infrastructure as D6 grows

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You'll report to the Supply Chain Director and collaborate closely with the Ecommerce and Sales teams as a core facilitator of the S&OP process. You'll be the demand and inventory planning expert, partnering with the broader Supply Chain, Marketplace, Product, and Finance teams to ensure product availability, launch readiness, and operational efficiency are always grounded in a reliable, current forecast. You'll also interface with wholesale and retail trading partners as needed to align on inventory commitments and replenishment expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply chain analysis, or a closely related operations role
  • Analytical proficiency, comfortable working with data sets, building forecasts, and drawing actionable conclusions from sales and inventory data; Excel fluency required, experience with AI or planning tools a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, catching the discrepancy in a data set before it becomes a planning error; brings precision to every number they own
  • Systems aptitude, picks up new software quickly; comfortable navigating ERP, OMS, and demand planning platforms; Fulfill experience a plus, not required
  • Process orientation, naturally thinks in workflows, dependencies, and checklists; understands that a good planning process is more reliable than a heroic individual effort
  • Collaborative communicator, works well across functions, surfaces risks early, and brings solutions rather than just problems
  • Experience in sporting goods, fitness equipment, apparel, or consumer products supply chain preferred; understanding of seasonal demand patterns and product lifecycle planning is a meaningful advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Familiarity with Amazon Vendor Central inventory and sales reporting a plus
  • Exposure to multi-channel inventory planning across DTC, marketplace, and wholesale partner channels a plus

WHY JOIN US?

  • Own the demand and inventory planning function from the ground up; this is a foundational role at an inflection point in D6's growth
  • Work at the center of the business; your forecast shapes purchasing decisions, production waves, channel readiness, and partner commitments across every team
  • Thrive in a collaborative, fitness-driven culture with access to on-site training facilities and a team that takes both performance and product seriously
  • Make visible, measurable impact; reduced stockouts, right-sized inventory, and logistics savings are outcomes you'll own and be recognized for
