Job description

If you feel a calling to use your technical talents as a form of worship and stewardship, this AVL Technician role offers a unique opportunity to serve the Kingdom at Saddleback Church. If God has gifted you with the ability to blend technical precision with a servant's heart, ensuring that every environment - from high-energy student gatherings to sacred, sensitive memorial services - is a distraction-free space for people to encounter Jesus, perhaps this position is for you. (Part-time up to 24-hrs a week)
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Event Management
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of events, including setting up, running, and cleaning up production elements such as audio, graphics, lighting, and staging.
  • Provide technical support for diverse campus venues, ensuring high-quality worship and meeting environments for children, students, staff, and various church ministries.
  • Incorporate, encourage, and direct volunteers, providing the necessary training to equip them for service during meetings and events.
  • Act as a technical resource by answering calls and resolving inquiries related to production matters.

Project Management
  • Maintain the excellence of campus venues and production areas through the cleaning, repairing, repositioning, and organizing of equipment.
  • Execute specific projects and scheduled tasks as assigned by the Production team and leadership.
  • Actively participate in all team meetings and spiritual devotionals to stay aligned with the team's mission.

Conferences and Special Events
  • Provide essential technical services for large-scale conferences and unique church-wide special events.
  • Manage the logistics of indoor and outdoor PA systems, including the installation, striking, and return of any rental equipment.
  • Serve as a professional liaison, coordinating communication between technical teams and conference support staff to ensure seamless execution.

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
  • Previous experience serving in a service-oriented and/or technical field is desired.
  • Must be able to think quickly on your feet in making technical decisions when running an event or requesting help.
  • Able to communicate well with guests and staff.

A flexible schedule is desirable due to the variety of campus events.
Saddleback Church's pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity and budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. The estimated pay rate for this position is $18.25-$18.75 hourly, depending on experience.
