Job description

Position Summary

The Vinyl Applicator is responsible for the preparation, installation, and finishing of vinyl graphics and signage on a variety of surfaces including walls, windows, vehicles, panels, and custom fabricated elements. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under deadlines, and experience handling large format printed graphics and specialty materials.

This is a temporary contract position expected to last approximately 6–8 weeks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install vinyl graphics, wraps, decals, and signage with precision and quality workmanship.

  • Prepare surfaces prior to installation including cleaning, measuring, masking, and alignment.

  • Apply vinyl to various substrates including acrylic, aluminum, PVC, glass, painted surfaces, and vehicles.

  • Trim, weed, laminate, and finish graphics as needed before installation.

  • Read and interpret production drawings, install instructions, and layout specifications.

  • Operate installation tools and equipment including squeegees, heat guns, knives, rivet brushes, and measuring tools.

  • Perform site surveys and verify field dimensions when required.

  • Work collaboratively with fabrication, print, and project management teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, vehicles, and installation equipment.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.

  • Travel locally and occasionally out of town for installations as needed.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience installing vinyl graphics or related signage applications.

  • Experience with large format graphics, wall wraps, window graphics, and dimensional signage.

  • Strong understanding of vinyl materials, laminates, and application techniques.

  • Ability to read tape measures and work from scaled drawings or layouts.

  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in various jobsite environments.

  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with vehicle wraps.

  • Familiarity with print production and finishing equipment.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or production file setup is a plus.

  • OSHA certification or lift certification is a plus.

Work Environment
  • Combination of shop and field installation work.

  • Fast-paced production environment with deadline-driven projects.

  • May require early mornings, overtime, weekends, and travel depending on project schedules.
