Job description

Precision Aerospace, a Precinmac Company, powers complex programs across aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and automation. From Texas-based facilities, we manufacture high-tolerance parts and assemblies with unwavering focus on quality, schedule, and continuous improvement. We’re seeking a maintenance leader to maximize reliability across an advanced CNC fleet and keep our AS9100-certified operations audit-ready.

Your mission
  • Sustain peak uptime and capability across 130+ CNC assets while protecting on-time delivery for mission-critical customers.
  • Embed preventive, predictive, and rapid-response practices that align with AS9100 Rev D and our quality ethos.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to translate reliability metrics into production results.
Scope of responsibilityMaintenance operations and equipment reliability
  • Oversee EDM (wire and sinker), turning/lathe centers, 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers, CMMs, and assembly support systems.
  • Engineer a comprehensive PM program across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and coolant systems.
  • Advance PdM: vibration and spindle monitoring, thermal imaging, and oil analysis to prevent unplanned failures.
  • Lead fast triage and repair of breakdowns; establish and track MTTR and MTBF KPIs.
  • Manage facilities infrastructure—HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, coolant/filtration systems, overhead cranes, forklifts.
  • Coordinate OEMs/field service for rebuilds, spindle replacements, control upgrades, and specialized repairs.
Compliance and quality system integration
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100 Rev D for maintenance, calibration, and process control.
  • Own calibration for CMMs, gauges, torque tools, and measuring instruments with Quality; maintain NIST traceability.
  • Author and update work instructions, SOPs, and equipment records; support internal/external audits.
  • Investigate equipment-related NCRs/CARs; execute RCA and corrective actions.
  • Maintain complete maintenance histories and calibration certificates within CMMS/ERP for audit and traceability.
Leadership and culture
  • Lead, mentor, and develop technicians; assign work orders, provide technical coaching, and deliver performance feedback.
  • Upskill the team on CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain), PLC troubleshooting, and machine tool systems.
  • Set on-call/emergency coverage to support all shifts; champion a safety-first mindset with LOTO/TAGOUT and PPE.
Budget and continuous improvement
  • Manage annual budgets for labor, spares, tooling, and contractor services; recommend capital investments.
  • Implement a critical spares strategy to balance cost and uptime risk.
  • Use CMMS data and OEE to prioritize CI projects that modernize aging equipment and remove chronic failure modes.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on capability studies, process changes, and new equipment qualification/installation.
  • Contribute to facility planning for new equipment, line reconfigurations, and expansions.
EHS and regulatory
  • Comply with OSHA, EPA, and state/local requirements—hazardous waste, chemical safety, environmental controls.
  • Participate in inspections, audits, and incident reviews; drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Oversee contractor safety for on-site maintenance and construction.
What you bring
  • BS in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Technology or related; or AS plus 8+ years of equivalent maintenance leadership in manufacturing.
  • 7+ years in precision manufacturing maintenance with 3+ years in a supervisor/manager capacity.
  • Direct experience with CNC turning centers, 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers, EDM (wire/sinker), and CMM equipment.
  • Proficiency with Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain; skilled in troubleshooting servo drives, spindle systems, and electrical/hydraulic circuits.
  • Background in AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar QMS environments.
  • Fluency with CMMS for work orders, PMs, and equipment history.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission.
  • Experience managing budgets, spare parts inventories, and contractor relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, LOTO/TAGOUT, machine safeguarding, and industrial safety best practices.
