Job description

CAD Drafter Job Summary

Smart Precise Solutions, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support the development, management, and control of engineering drawings. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement of drawing management systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Interpret project objectives and define scope of work for engineering and facility initiatives
  • Gather and validate requirements from stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and EHS
  • Create, update, and maintain engineering drawings (layouts, utility plans, evacuation maps, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain as-built, redline, and record drawings
  • Prepare sketches, layouts, and preliminary designs for project planning
  • Ensure compliance with document control and change control procedures (GMP)
  • Maintain and improve drawing/document management systems for version control and audit readiness
  • Support development and improvement of SOPs related to drafting and documentation
  • Provide weekly progress reports and monthly project presentations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external Architect/Engineering (AE) firms
  • Identify and help resolve issues impacting scope, quality, timeline, or cost
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, etc.)

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Certification in AutoCAD (preferred) or equivalent CAD software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and MS Project
  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Professional Drafter license (preferred)
  • Experience with AE firms or similar environments (preferred)

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Industry.
  • Drafting/ Auto CAD: 5-8 years (preferred)


Language:

  • English (Preferred)
