Superior Completion Services is seeking a Drafter 2 for our office in Houston, TX.

Bring your creativity to life as a Drafter 2 for Superior Energy Services!
In this dynamic role, you’ll transform ideas into reality by preparing solid models, detailed layouts, machine and assembly drawings, and precise bills of materials. You'll play a key role in revising existing products through Engineering Change Notices, making an impact with every detail.

This position is perfect for someone who can confidently tackle challenges, draft at both component and system levels, and learning to disposition basic to mid-level deviations and non-conforming products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare solid models and drawings from sketches or layouts for downhole completion tools and equipment used in Completion Services (i.e., packers and packer accessories such as valves, setting tools, and plugs).
  • Responsible for the construction of scale layouts.
  • Handles routine paperwork and correspondence associated with product design and maintenance.
  • Initiate engineering change notice documentation.
  • Interacts with individuals in other departments as part of the product development and maintenance process.
  • Provide disposition of deviation requests and non-conforming products.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in drafting-related degree path or 5 years or more drafting experience required.
  • Additional experience in solid modeling, especially in downhole tools, is a plus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully proficient Mechanical solid modeling skills are required; Inventor experience is a plus.
  • Auto-CAD experience preferred.
  • Fully proficient in MS Office software.
  • Familiar with manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • Experience drafting downhole tools for the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Understanding written statements in work-related documents.
  • Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and recommend solutions.
