Job description

Laborer Precast Fencing & Masonry

We are a commercial fencing and masonry contractor specializing in precast concrete fence systems. Our projects serve commercial clients throughout the Houston region and include: Precast perimeter walls, apartment & townhome fencing, parking lot fences, property dividers, commercial security walls and noise barrier walls

We are looking for a full-time motivated laborer to join our crew, with opportunity for growth within the company. This is a hands-on outdoor role that involves precast fencing installation, masonry work, and general construction labor. We value team players who are eager to learn and take pride in quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up concrete forms for precast fence panels
  • Install, assemble, and set precast fencing components using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
  • Set posts and ensure proper foundations for fence installation
  • Clear debris and prepare work sites daily
  • Placement of appropriate inlets and outlets.
  • Lay brick, block, stone, glass block, and terra-cotta for commercial structures
  • Stripping and cleaning forms, oiling forms, preparing, and installing re-bar or reinforcing wire.
    Pouring and finishing concrete in forms.
  • Finish and clean mortar joints for a sealed, uniform appearance

General Labor

  • Load, unload, and transport materials to work site
  • Assist with material staging, scaffolding, patching, and cleanup
  • Work closely with superintendents and crew to meet project goals
  • Assist other field personnel with various tasks as needed
  • Perform other labor-related duties as directed by supervisor

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs throughout the workday
  • Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and carrying items at job sites.
  • Comfortable walking on steep slopes, rough terrain, and active construction sites
  • Ability to work outdoors in summer weather conditions

General Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to arrive at the Houston office. Company trucks are the main transportation to job sites.
  • Willingness to work weekends as needed to complete projects
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to follow all safety guidelines outlined in the company's safety program
  • Willingness to learn and take directions from experienced crew members

Preferred Qualifications

  • No experience required. We'll train you. You just need to show up and be ready to work.
  • Previous experience in construction, fencing, or masonry is a plus, with on the job training provided.
  • Experience operating hand tools and power tools on job sites
  • OSHA certification a plus
