Job description

Geoquest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support.

The Precast Coordination Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the production, scheduling, quality control, and logistics of retaining wall panels. This position reports to the plant manager and ensures that precast operations run efficiently, meeting project deadlines, quality standards, and cost objectives. The coordination manager works closely with production teams, project managers, logistics personnel to optimize workflow and ensure seamless execution from casting to delivery, while maintaining communication with clients.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop detailed project schedules, including fabrication, delivery, and installation timelines.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of precast production, including formwork design, rebar placement, concrete pouring, and finishing.
  • Oversee the loading, transportation, and lifting of precast elements to the construction site. '
  • Manage document control processes by providing analysis and efficiency recommendations to existing processes.
  • Monitor actual production against agreed-to production forecast; identify plant issues that impact production and assist with developing a recovery plan; assess requirements for and coordinate delivery of Forms and Standard Liner resources.
  • Coordination of pre-bill of lading activities, including assessing and making recommendations for Improvements to process.
  • Coordination of shipping schedule to ensure proper and timely shipping of products.
  • Coordinate with SIOP to provide and receive updates on schedule and shipping status and bring identified issues for problem solving of specific conditions at regularly scheduled progress meetings.
  • Client Management:
  • Maintain open communication with clients, addressing concerns and keeping them updated on project status.
  • Review and negotiate contract terms and change orders with project managers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the quality and delivery of precast components.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety:
  • Enforce quality control measures throughout the precast manufacturing process.
Education / Skills / Experience
  • Extensive experience in precast concrete production and construction practices.
  • Project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships.
  • Proficiency in construction software for project planning and documentation.
  • Analytic ability necessary to assess resource management.
  • Basic understanding of contracts and contract language, job cost budgeting, material ordering is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of precast and/or project management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Detail oriented and Strong Organizational Skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Responsibilities will be carried out in both a traditional office environment under traditional office conditions and indoor and outdoor manufacturing facilities.
  • Must be able to coordinate or lead employees among different levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels in facilities being managed or coordinated.
  • Able to wear personal protective clothing for prolonged periods; Safety helmet with chinstrap, safety shoes, eye protection, hand protection and hearing protection (as required).
