Pre-med students interested in becoming medical assistants should complete a high school diploma or equivalent, gain relevant experience through volunteering or internships, and consider obtaining certification such as the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). While formal education is not always required, certification can improve job prospects and demonstrate competence in clinical and administrative tasks within healthcare settings.
