About the Job:
Shriners Children’s Boston is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for its Pre-op (Peds) unit. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing pediatric patients for surgery, ensuring that they are comfortable and ready for their procedures. Your work will directly impact the success of pediatric surgeries by providing excellent preoperative care and education to both patients and their families. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prepare pediatric patients for surgery, including collecting necessary medical information.

  • Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and their families, explaining procedures and what to expect.

  • Ensure a sterile environment is maintained during preoperative procedures.

  • Collaborate with the surgical team to prepare patients for their procedures.

  • Monitor vital signs and ensure patients are stable before surgery.

  • Educate families and patients on post-operative care and recovery.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow all hospital policies and procedures for patient care.
