Job description

Build what others stand on! We are seeking a skilled and self-driven Structural Steel Fabricator/Fitter to join our growing team! If you take pride in precision work, reading blueprints, and building quality structures that last, we want to hear from you! Must be able to demonstrate welding capabilities. Wage based on skill level. We are a custom fabrication shop specializing in structural products, (e.g. I-beams, columns, structural support for HVAC & Mechanical Systems, mezzanines and more) to customer specifications.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the fabrication of structural metal products using a large variety of tools and machines. Responsible for the interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and other written and verbal instructions.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

-Fabricate (Cutting, Shaping & Forming, Welding, Assembly and Finishing) from a few millimeters to several inches thick of steel plate

- Able to follow Industrial Technology Services policies and procedures and lead by example

-The use of fabrication tools such as drills, shears, presses, and precision measuring tools

- Diligent in ensuring a zero-accident philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of construction operations

- Adhere to all quality and safety codes

- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches

- Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed

- Complete preventative maintenance

- Ensure working environment is clean and safe

Job Qualifications:

- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the structural fabrication trade

- High school diploma/GED required

- Excellent hand/eye coordination

- Must be able to read measurements and use basic math skills

- Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient manner

- Current valid driver's license

- Welding certifications

Physical Requirements of Position:

- Required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., sit, bend, and stoop and use fine motor skills

- Possess the ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly
