Construction Sales Representative

Louisville, Kentucky, United States

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Construction Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through client acquisition, relationship management, and project sales within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to deliver exceptional service to both new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate sales through multiple channels, including networking, prospecting, and cold calling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the construction industry to meet or exceed targets.
  • Review bid specifications, drawings, and contractual terms to prepare accurate cost estimates for asphalt, concrete, and other scopes of work.
  • Prepare and present detailed project bids, proposals, and cost analyses to customers.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Area Managers to develop and implement project schedules.
  • Attend pre-job meetings, jobsite visits, and client follow-up meetings to gather data and strengthen client partnerships.
  • Analyze job costs, manage change orders, and review bids with upper management for accuracy and profitability.
  • Prepare organized, detailed proposals (unit priced, lump sum, and negotiated projects) within company software systems.
  • Maintain industry knowledge, including competitor activity, market trends, and new product developments.
  • Ensure all sales and estimating activities are completed in compliance with safety policies, regulations, and company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience in the construction or related industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in math, estimating, and computer-based sales tools.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
