Job Overview
The Learning Experience is seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Construction Project Specialist to support the planning, design, permitting, and pre-construction phases of new childcare center development projects nationwide.
This role partners with Real Estate, Finance, Licensing, Operations, Construction, and Creative teams, as well as architects, developers, consultants, and municipal agencies, to keep projects moving from lease execution through construction handoff.
The ideal candidate has experience in project coordination, architecture, construction, development, or permitting and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
  •  Support development projects from lease execution through construction handoff 
  •  Coordinate project kick-off meetings and establish key milestones 
  •  Maintain project schedules and monitor progress throughout pre-construction 
  •  Identify schedule risks and communicate solutions proactively 
  •  Provide project updates, dashboards, and reporting through Monday.com 
  •  Maintain accurate project information across company systems 
Design, Permitting, and Development Support
  •  Coordinate prototype updates, design directives, signage packages, and branding requirements 
  •  Support review of architectural plans and project documentation 
  •  Track permitting, entitlement, zoning, and municipal approval activities 
  •  Coordinate with developers, architects, consultants, and local agencies to support timely approvals 
  •  Monitor project milestones and assist in resolving issues that impact schedules 
Process Improvement and Documentation
  •  Maintain process guides, templates, presentations, and workflow documentation 
  •  Create and update customer-facing materials using Adobe InDesign 
  •  Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Pre-Construction team 
  •  Ensure documentation aligns with company standards and branding 
Qualifications
  •  Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field preferred 
  •  2+ years of experience in pre-construction, architecture, construction coordination, project management, or commercial development 
  •  Proficiency with Adobe InDesign required 
  •  Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents preferred 
  •  Working knowledge of permitting, entitlements, and commercial development processes 
  •  Experience with Monday.com, Procore, or similar project management systems preferred 
  •  Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 
  •  Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
