The Alliance South District is seeking qualified candidates for a Community Pastor position at a thriving church in the coastal area of Alabama. Celebrating its sixth year as a replant with a promising future, this church is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The church's mission is to lead people to take their next step with Jesus. ABOUT THE COMMUNITY PASTOR
The Community Pastor is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the care, connection, and growth of the congregation, from their first visit through full participation. In addition to creating community through small groups, this role will also involve spearheading the launch of future congregations or campuses. Success is defined by the continued growth of our ministry in line with the vision, focusing on being and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
ONE SENTENCE JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Community Pastor, I cultivate a culture of prayer, create healthy growing small groups, build key ministry teams, provide pastoral care to our church family, and assist in launching future congregations or campuses.
PRIMARY AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cultivating | Prayer Culture: Establishing and leading a prayer team that provides prayer after each Sunday gathering, and organizing annual prayer events such as 21 Days of Prayer and Discovery.
  • Creating | Small Groups: Developing and leading the church family in gathering in small groups, and leading a small group as a model for the rest of the church.
  • Working with a team to strategize investments into the men of our church/community.
  • Building | Ministry Teams: Establishing ministry teams to serve the church, including administration, facility management, and Sunday serve teams.
  • Caring | Church Family: Being available to provide pastoral care and support to the congregation in times of need.
  • Strategic Direction: Utilizing creativity and wisdom to assist in strategic planning for the future, including the launch of future congregations or campuses.
    Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Pastoral ministry experience in a church of at least 350.
