What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) team is looking for an experienced Project Engineering professional with the ability to work independently. Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations. Identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.

  • Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations.

  • Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and upper Pratt & Whitney management.

  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work.

  •  Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements

  •  Lead Class 1 and Class 2 engineering change execution

  • Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met.  Performs risks assessments and develop mitigation plan as needed.  

  • Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.

  • Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.

  • Support military budget EVMS activities & support project management activities.

  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.

  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using CORE tools and support AS9100 efforts.

  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.

  • Travel is up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or Aerospace Engineering

  • 5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter, Confluence, Jira).

  • Completed CAM Training / CAM Certified

  • Experience with leading multi-functional teams

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry or with gas turbine engine experience

  • Experience with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project or other scheduling software

  • Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
