What is a practicum counseling intern?

During the practicum, interns apply theoretical knowledge and develop their counseling skills by working directly with clients under the supervision of a licensed counselor. The practicum is a crucial component of counselor education, designed to prepare students for professional practice. Interns typically engage in activities such as individual and group counseling, assessments, and case documentation while receiving regular feedback and support from their supervisor.
