Practice Management Coordinator

Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for a Practice Management Coordinator to work with our Practice Management team in our Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Denver, or Washington D.C. office. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to support the Practice Group Leader, and the firm's Practice Management department in managing the business, talent, and administration of the Practice Group. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Practice group support:
  • Schedule, support, and facilitate Practice Group meetings, draft agendas, maintain minutes and facilitate communication among the Practice Group; Communicate firm policies and directives to the Practice Group Leader and the Practice Group's lawyers and staff; Assist the Practice Group Director and work with the Information Services Department to identify, develop and implement software and legal support systems to enhance the Practice Group's productivity; Work with the Practice Group Leader and Practice Group Director and liaise with office and administrative leaders to execute the Practice Group's objectives efficiently; Serve as a "go to" resource for the Practice Group.
  • Lawyer and consultant orientation / integration / departure process/offboarding:
  • Communicate necessary information to new associates and consultants; Coordinate new lawyer and consultant arrival at the firm under the direction of the Practice Group Director; Coordinate with moving company for lawyer and consultant moves from out of state; Arrange, schedule and participate in new lawyer orientation as directed by the Practice Group Director; Support the Practice Group Director by providing administrative assistance in the lawyer offboarding process.
  • Lawyer and consultant personnel:
  • Coordinate status change communication; Assist the Practice Group Director in managing Advisor program; Provide administrative support for the performance evaluation process, promotion process, compensation and bonus conversations; Assist with recommendations on staffing levels and hiring needs under the direction of the Practice Group Leader and Practice Group Director; Work with Professional Development on scheduling lawyer training, including internal and external CLE programs run by the Practice Group.
  • Practice group reporting:
  • Assist the Practice Group Leader and Practice Group Director in assessing the productivity and profitability of the Practice Group's lawyers, paralegals and client relationships; Coordinate with the Practice Group Director in preparing weekly and monthly reports regarding financial matters and to assist with staffing and talent management.
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years' experience
    • Minimum of three (3) years related administrative experience
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Law firm support experience
