Western Community College has been a pioneer in offering various health care programs. With the intent to offer the Medical Lab Assistant program, WCC invites applications from eligible and experienced candidates for the position of Instructor for the Medical Lab Assistant Program.


Job Title: MLA Instructor


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of curriculum as per the BCSLS Competencies for Lab Assistants.
  • Provide excellent learning and teaching experiences for students
  • Participate in the academic progress of students through constant evaluation and feedback
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support a high-quality learning environment.
  • Contribute to and support a healthy, collegial and scholarly work environment through professional practice and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Lab Assistant with more than 10 years of work experience working in the field OR teaching experience of more than 2 years in the same field.
  • For the teaching laboratory section, the required qualification is a Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist.

  • Fixed Term Contract from September 2, 2026, to January 21, 2027
