Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Communication, Media & Journalism department on the Gainesville campus. A student-run public relations firm is a PR firm run by students and advised by faculty. The students identify and work with real clients in the local community to prepare communication plans and deliverables for organizations. Students get hands-on resume building and public relations experience while strengthening ties between the university and the community. The Firm Director is responsible for managing the firm's operations and leading weekly meetings with staff and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and motivate firm members.
  • Maintain on-going contact with the firm, Faculty and Professional Advisers.
  • Maintain documentation of all activities.
  • Oversee client search and acquisition.
  • Maintain contact with clients and account executives to ensure satisfactory progress.
  • Offer commitment and professionalism to the firm and its activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • The student should be a Communication major, preferably a junior or senior.
