Marketing and Communications Manager - Blue Man Group & VStar Entertainment
Sales, Marketing and Communications
Full-Time Position
The Marketing & Communications Manager will participate in the development of brand-genuine Marketing and Communications strategies for Blue Man Group. Their goal is to maximize revenue and occupancy, while controlling costs, through traditional advertising, PR, media planning/production, experiential marketing, promotions and market research. This position will guide the implementation of Marketing and PR strategies on behalf of the brand, while maintaining a favorable public image and respecting Blue Man Group brand standards. The ideal candidate will be organized and have exceptional negotiation and presentation skills; they must also be able to handle ambiguous tasks while working under pressure and maintaining a professional demeanor.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement strategy and manage communications for the show's advertising plan and promotions.
  • Manage the brand and graphic standards for the show collateral to include addressing production/graphic issues, press checks and remediation with vendors.
  • Manage the creation, production and implementation of all Marketing materials for show including printed materials, signage, radio, TV, digital and outdoor advertising.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of all advertising efforts and make recommendations for revisions, as necessary.When possible, set up metrics to receive direct feedback.
  • Plan and conduct Public Relations and Media Relations activities, such as handling media requests for the production, the preparation and distribution of press materials (press releases, press kits, b-rolls, artist bios etc.) and work in collaboration with RSD PR and PR agency(ies) on initiatives and pitches.
  • Coordinate Public and Media Relations activities on- and off-site while accompanying Artists and staff.
  • Facilitate communication with show teams, performers and media as needed.
  • Oversee Marketing Agency and 3rd party contractors, production partners and support teams to drive experiential Marketing initiatives.
  • Continually manage expectations of partners, senior management and internal departments through clear, concise communication.
  • Implement partnerships with key brands that align with Blue Man Group to cross promote and expand the brand awareness to identified audiences.
  • Initiate regular partner strategy meetings in order to develop and assess new and ongoing strategies for advertising, media planning, production, market research, PR and promotions.
  • Work with partners, agencies and vendors to manage the development of annual media budgets.
  • Implement, track and optimize in-market initiatives to drive day-of ticket sales.
  • Seek out innovative ideas for new marketing activities and potential vendors or partners to assist with increasing the visibility of Blue Man Group shows and their respective sales objectives.
  • Oversee and direct the pitching of promotions and public relations by PR firm to media outlets in local and key U.S. feeder markets and national broadcast television. Set and ensure media value targets are achieved.
  • Handle press, VIP and celebrity/influencer ticket requests and on-site logistics and coordination.
  • Act as company spokesperson; represent Blue Man Group at public events and business gatherings.
  • Research and identify social media best practices and relevant brand examples within the space for Marketing initiatives; Maintain and assist in developing content for Social Media in collaboration with Show Teams;
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Director of Global Marketing & Communications.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing and/or Communications.
  • At least four years of previous experience in Entertainment Marketing, Advertising or working with an agency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Previous experience working with or knowledge of Experiential Marketing.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media trends and platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, etc.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain solid business relationships, both internally and externally, to promote and encourage a positive and productive work environment.
  • Proven success driving ticket sales and revenue is preferred.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
