Job description

Pearl Abyss America, Inc. - the team behind Black Desert and Crimson Desert as well as the upcoming titles DokeV and Plan8- is seeking a high-performing, creative, results-oriented and quality-obsessed Public Relations Manager to help accelerate our gaming reach to millions of customers across all platforms (PC, Mobile, Console, etc.) in North America.

The video games industry is transforming how players are entertained, communicating with each other, and interacting online and on their digital devices. As an experienced, passionate, and vision-driven PR expert who loves videogames, you will be one of the main people responsible for the company's PR activities for all the products covering North and South America, from planning to execution. You will work closely with the Marketing, Content Production, and Live-Service Teams to ensure all the PR campaigns are well-aligned with the business goals. You will also be one of the primary points of contact for the PR agencies, partners and media outlets.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop public relations strategies for current and upcoming titles, launches, and promotions in North America regions
  • Create strategically driven product marketing plans for launch titles and overseeing implementation of all tactical components.
  • Develop and produce high-quality, informative and engaging press releases, press kits, and related materials
  • Maintain exceptional relationships with media and earned creators
  • Organize promotional events, press conferences, tours, visits, and exhibitions
  • Analyze media coverage; develop responses when needed
  • Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual media activity reports
  • Keep annual calendars of events, targets, and activities organized
  • Communicate strategies, risks and opportunities for assigned titles with other teams across the organization
  • Work closely with other regional teams to coordinate global PR initiatives
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party media planning agencies and marketing agencies
  • Collaborate with all relevant internal teams and external partners to ensure continuity in strategy and consistency in execution in order to ensure all the efforts are well-aligned to achieve the KPI objectives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public relations in videogames or an industry adjacent field, agency or in-house
  • Bachelor's degree -- preferably in media, public relations or marketing or any related field experience is required
  • Extensive knowledge and interest in video gaming, interactive entertainment industry
  • Proven track record of successful PR activities and/or earned media planning
  • Background and basic knowledge of marketing fundamentals including positioning, strategic planning, market analysis, advertising and PR
  • Experience in working successfully with social media channels and editorial personnel in conjunction with executing PR and community plans
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong team player who works with internal and external partners effectively
  • Advanced Proficiency in the MS Office software (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
  • *International travels may be required for this position

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Experience in launching AAA PC or Console titles in the US/EU regions
  • Experience in working with online/digital marketplaces and developing digital content strategies and executing launches of supportive and standalone digital releases
