Job Description

PPM Works is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead client-facing engagements and internal operational initiatives. In this fully remote role, you will own projects from initiation through closeout, driving outcomes across varied industries and team sizes. You will work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver on time, within scope, and on budget.

This role is designed for a practitioner who moves fluidly between waterfall structure and agile delivery, thriving in environments where no two projects look the same.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery for client and internal engagements, from charter through closeout
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets using MS Project, Smartsheet, and OnePlan
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Apply hybrid methodology, blending waterfall structure with agile flexibility based on project context

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and building long-term trust
  • Facilitate regular status meetings, executive briefings, and steering committee updates
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies proactively
  • Produce clear, concise project status reports and executive-level communications

Team Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional project teams of varying sizes in a fully remote environment
  • Partner with resource managers to staff projects and manage capacity across concurrent engagements
  • Mentor junior PMs and contribute to continuous improvement of ppmworks delivery standards

Financials & Governance

  • Maintain project data integrity and reporting within OnePlan and other PPM platforms
  • Track and manage project financials including budget forecasting, actuals, and variance reporting
  • Conduct lessons learned sessions and contribute findings to the ppmworks knowledge base
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of project management experience, including client-facing engagements
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects of varying scale and complexity across diverse industries
  • Proficiency with an enterprise PM tool for scheduling, resource management, and reporting
  • Hands-on experience with hybrid project delivery 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executive audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a remote, distributed environment
  • Experience managing project financials: budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Must have AI acumen with the ability to be a leader by leveraging AI

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Experience with OnePlan or similar enterprise PPM platforms
  • Agile/Scrum certification (CSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent)
  • Background in professional services, consulting, or technology delivery
  • Experience implementing or administering PPM tools on behalf of clients
