Bilingual Substance Use Counselor

Tuesday - Saturday, for our growing Outpatient treatment team!

Bridgeway is a new kind of healthcare organization providing holistic treatment through addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care.

Primary Purpose

Primary responsibility is to build an alliance with clients by providing education, and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their life and reduce the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides client-centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed services.
  • Uses motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active engagement in services.
  • Conducts assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5.
  • Works collaboratively with other providers to ensure services are seamless.
  • Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals.
  • Facilitates evidence-based groups.
  • Conducts individual counseling sessions.
  • Types and maintains timely and accurate documentation, including group notes, individual notes, status reports, as well as documenting other contacts made concerning the client.
  • Monitors random urinalysis testing.
  • Completes monthly status reports for all clients on caseload and facilitates sending them to providers involved with the client's care.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and maintains a working relationship with all referral sources.
  • Attends staff meetings and works as a member of a multidisciplinary team to identify and implement quality services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Experience, Education, and Credentials
  • Requires an Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • In addition to formal education, the qualified candidate will generally have at least one to three years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience.
  • CADC I or higher certification required with MHACBO.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer and time management skills.
  • Advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5.
  • Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Compensation
