Summary:

As the Associate Manager, Hybrid Cloud Architect, you, will be a part of the Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) – Hosting Services Department. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, management, support, and oversight of SCJ’s Hybrid Cloud environment.

The Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) – Hosting Services Department owns the full product lifecycle for Windows, Linux and Unix based applications and infrastructure within the private, hybrid and public clouds. The technology landscape includes platforms and technologies that support the following services:

  • Windows and Linux services

  • Virtualization services

  • Hyper Converged Infrastructure and Edge Computing

  • Azure IaaS Compute services

  • Azure Arc enabled services

  • Infrastructure as Code Deployment and Management of Azure resources

  • Automation and Orchestration using tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, Python and Shell Scripting

  • Performance and Capacity Management

This is an onsite role in Racine, WI

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve the most complex cloud, and hybrid cloud issues.

  • Act as technical lead on multiple hybrid and public cloud transformation initiatives

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to third party partners including Managed Service Providers, System Integrators and other third-party contractors.

  • Be an Internal expert on Cloud and on-premises Technologies

  • Provide input into SCJ strategies and budgets

  • Perform cross-functional tasks for Cloud Services to support distributed, Window/Linuxs environments and technologies as it pertains to implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of the infrastructure services

  • May be required to work occasional nights and/or weekends

  • Provide consultation to business partners on improving cloud services

  • Engineer and develop enterprise hosting solutions to support the organization strategy

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business or related degree or relevant military experience considered in lieu of degree requirement

  • Experience as an engineer or architect on a complex cloud transformation initiative

  • 5+ years of experience supporting distributed, Windows/Linux environments and technologies including Windows Server O/S, VMWare, Linux, Converged and HCI Platforms

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in the engineering, and support of Cloud and on-premise platforms and technologies within medium to large-scale companies - Microsoft Azure preferred

  • 3+ years of experience hands-on with one or more scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Terraform)

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Experience partnering with internal and/or external stakeholders to build or support on-premises and/or cloud services

  • Experience with engineering, deploying, and configuring Azure services (IaaS, PaaS)

  • Experience with Hybrid Cloud Platforms, preferably Azure Stack

  • Experience with writing infrastructure as code and deploying infrastructure using Terraform

  • Demonstrate problems solved or services delivered through scripting and automation

  • Azure certification (Admin or Architect)

  • Experience in hosting private and public cloud solutions

  • Self-driven and ability to identify tasks/activities required to keep the environment healthy
