Job description

Job Description One Tech Engineering is searching for an Instructional Designer for a position located in Amarillo, Texas. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for in-person delivery of the existing transmission substation training curriculum. The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card.

The candidate should have Journeyman Substation Electrician experience. Instructional Designer Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, classroom-based instruction for substation training programs. Facilitate multi-week training sessions for substation personnel.

Review and prepare instructional materials in advance of training sessions. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance. Support minor revisions, updates, and continuous improvement of the curriculum.

Coordinate logistics and training preparation activities. Occasionally visit substations or training labs to provide hands-on instructional support. Requirements of the Instructional Designer: Journeyman Substation Electrician experience is required.

Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on substation experience. Extensive field experience in substation operations or maintenance. Strong working knowledge of substation equipment, including breakers, relays, and mechanical/electrical systems.

Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, and basic Excel skills).
