Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking a Sr. Power Platform Developer to work in the Scott AFB, IL area. This role is critical in developing, implementing, and maintaining custom solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including PowerApps, Power Automate and Power BI, with a strong emphasis on Power BI architecture, data modeling, security configuration, and advanced report development. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving process automation, enabling data-driven decision-making, and solving complex business challenges with scalable, secure digital solutions.
A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
Power BI Subject Matter Expertise:
  • Serve as the organization's Power BI SME, providing expert guidance on best practices for modeling, structuring, and visualizing data, report development, and workspace configuration.
  • Design and optimize enterprise-grade data models, including star schemas, semantic layers, and reusable datasets that support scalable analytics.
  • Configure and manage Power BI permissions, including row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), workspace roles, dataset access, and secure sharing aligned with DoD requirements.
  • Structure and maintain Power BI workspaces for development, testing, and production, ensuring proper separation, version control, and deployment consistency.
  • Develop a wide range of report types, including interactive dashboards, paginated reports, scorecards, and self-service datasets tailored to diverse stakeholder needs and organizational reporting strategy.
  • Implement best practices for DAX optimization, data refresh performance, and dataset lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot complex Power BI issues, including refresh failures, performance bottlenecks, data integrity challenges, and security configuration conflicts.
  • Provide expert consultation to teams on how to leverage Power BI effectively, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements.

Develop and Implement Custom Solutions:
  • Design, build, and deploy custom applications and workflows using PowerApps and Power Automate to streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build scalable data models that integrate and manage data seamlessly across applications.
  • Continuously optimize and enhance existing applications to meet evolving business needs.

Problem Solving and Solution Design:
  • Work closely with business leaders and technical teams to identify challenges and design tailored Power Platform solutions.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve technical and functional issues, delivering user-friendly solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate processes and improve existing workflows.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and clarify business objectives, ensuring technical solutions align with those needs.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate Power Platform solutions with existing systems and workflows.

Experience/Skills:
  • 6+ years of related experience
  • Proven experience in developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills with experience in creating Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on solution design and process optimization.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • ServiceNow experience desired

Clearance:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
  • Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC'S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
