This position reports to:
Local Business Line Manager Marine Sytem
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee the operational aspects of local units, encompassing the full scope of Operations, including project management and control, project engineering, manufacturing, production engineering, maintenance, procurement, quality, continuous improvement, logistics, and planning and fulfillment, or a part of that. Each day, you will be responsible for developing business action plans for the units, aligned with business area/division/product group strategy and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring strict adherence within the Operations with respect to policies and required health, safety, and integrity standards.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Automation, Marine and Ports Division and is based in Houston, TX.
You will be mainly accountable for
  • Monitoring plan implementation and tracking any deviations for corrective action.
  • Preparing annual budget, overseeing progress, and determining measures to address cost-related issues as necessary, to manage operations within the allocated budget and resources.
  • Developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.
  • Ensuring that the organization takes into account an overall value chain perspective to meet customer expectations as per agreed quality, service levels, and lead time.

Qualifications for the role
  • MSc or BSc in technical field and or relevant experience in Marine Operations.
  • Ability and experience in building and leading diverse and multinational operations teams.
  • Experience in the Marine industry and knowledge in electrical and automation engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Strong drive for world-class customer service
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to network with relevant parties, and ability to independently work with customers.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
