BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy facility development, recapitalization, and construction projects. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.
Position Description and Responsibilities:
This senior electrical engineering position will assist in military construction (MILCON) project development, compliance reviews, constructability reviews and ensuring SSP specific requirements are incorporated into the electrical portion of various design phases of the MILCON projects.
BAE Systems is seeking a senior electrical engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on high-profile U.S Navy weapon systems. This electrical position will support the Navy Program Manager responsible for Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition at TRIDENT Submarine Bases, primarily at Kings Bay, Georgia and Bangor, Washington. This engineering candidate is responsible for the development of single line diagrams, Bill of Materials for power systems for industrial facilities, and the integration of new facilities into the existing on-base electrical power system. The selected candidate will perform technical peer reviews of architectural/engineering design submittals, lead the develop of unique SSP facility requirements & testing criteria, and perform constructability reviews of A/E produced design documentation. Candidate will also provide input and assist in the development of engineering study reports and help coordinate and resolve facility design/integration issues.
The position will lead the development of comprehensive MILCON documentation (DD1391 forms, equipment estimates, & facility layouts) and the electrical portion of preliminary construction cost estimates. The position will also engage in working with subcontractors for input and review of scopes of work and review of site studies, such as power capacity assessments of existing power grids at selected sites for the new infrastructure.
The position will lead the electrical design development of SSP facility requirements for construction documentation to ensure the constructed facility performs the necessary function of mission. A limited amount of travel to off-site locations will be required on an as needed basis to support studies and design meetings.
The position will require generating correspondence to internal/external customers, other BAE sector government property administrators, and other architectural/engineering personnel.
The candidate will be required to manage and/or support other disciple tasks as needed. This position must also work with and support corporate Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) personnel to maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
The candidate will be required to maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program preferred and at least four years of related/relevant professional work experience OR equivalent education and related facility electrical experience required.
  • Professional experience of electrical power systems including medium voltage and low voltage system equipment, lighting design, mast and catenary lightning protection systems, emergency power systems, generators, substations, transformers, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), power converters
  • Professional design experience of Power Grounding Systems
  • Professional experience in the development of Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, & Load Calculations
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams
Technical Knowledge and Proficiency
  • Engineer-in-Training certification or equivalent professional work experience associated with licensing requirements

Communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Professional understanding and application of standard electrical codes, NFPC, NEC, etc
  • Professional application of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) for facility design documentation
  • Experience in the development of construction design packages; including basis of design documents, drawings, specifications, and calculations per UFC requirements
  • Professional experience using of ETAP or SKM Software
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is NOT required, but candidate must be willing to attain a PE license once in the position.
  • Engineer-In-Training certification or equivalent professional experience per Professional Engineer license requirements.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
