A Power Platform Intern is an entry-level role focused on learning and assisting with the development, deployment, and maintenance of business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents. Interns typically support more senior team members by building applications, automating workflows, and analyzing data to solve real-world business problems. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience with low-code/no-code technologies and digital transformation projects.

What types of projects can a Power Platform Intern expect to work on during their internship?

As a Power Platform Intern, you can expect to work on a variety of projects that involve building custom business solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Typical projects include automating manual processes, creating data visualizations, and developing applications that streamline workflows for different departments. You'll often collaborate with business analysts, IT teams, and end users to understand requirements and deliver solutions. This hands-on experience helps interns develop practical skills in low-code/no-code application development and gain exposure to real-world business challenges.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Power Platform Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Power Platform Intern, you need a foundational understanding of data analysis, business processes, and basic programming concepts, often supported by coursework in information technology or computer science. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, along with a basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related certifications, is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly help interns excel in collaborative environments. These skills and qualities are important for developing effective business solutions and integrating seamlessly into team-driven technology projects.
