Power Platform Developer

Gertens Family of Businesses is looking for a detail-oriented, solutions-driven Power Platform Developer to join our Gertens IT Development Team onsite in Inver Grove Heights, MN. This hybrid role will design, build, and support Power Platform applications, automations, and reporting solutions that improve production operations, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decisions.

This position works closely with production teams, operations leaders, and IT to understand business needs and deliver scalable solutions across production planning, inventory, reporting, and related processes. This role is part of the IT Development Team and reports to the Business Applications Lead.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, test, and support applications using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse
  • Partner with production teams to understand business processes, pain points, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop solutions that support production planning, task tracking, inventory visibility, reporting, and operational workflows
  • Create and maintain automated workflows to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy
  • Build user-friendly forms, views, dashboards, and reporting tools for production and leadership teams
  • Support integrations between Power Platform solutions and other business systems
  • Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable fixes
  • Gather requirements, document processes, and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Maintain solution documentation, security roles, environments, and application lifecycle practices
  • Train and support end users on Power Platform applications and process changes
  • Collaborate with IT Development Team members on development standards, testing, deployment, and support
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and visibility across production operations

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 2+ years of experience developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and/or other data sources
  • Power BI reporting or dashboard development experience preferred
  • Understanding of Power Platform best practices, including ALM, solution management, security, and environment strategy
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications such as PL-900, PL-400, PL-200, preferred
  • Ability to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate needs into practical technical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for solving business problems through technology and automation
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while partnering with business users and IT Development Team members
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools and business applications
  • Interest in production, agriculture, or plants preferred!

Physical & Schedule Requirements:

  • Ability to work onsite in an office environment in Inver Grove Heights, MN and visit surrounding production areas as needed. May also work from home when projects allow.
  • Must be comfortable working with users in both office and operational settings
  • Occasional flexibility may be required during peak seasons, system launches, or critical support needs
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform light physical tasks
