Senior Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Developer

SYNERGY SETTLEMENT SERVICES INC

Job description

Description

Candidate MUST reside in Orlando, Florida to be considered. This is a hybrid position - 3 days in office, 2 remote.

At Synergy, our technology is how we protect what injured people take home from a settlement. When someone is seriously hurt and wins their case, hospitals, insurers, and Medicare all have claims against that money, and resolving those claims correctly is the difference between a client keeping their recovery and losing part of it. Our team of about 90 people does that work every day in Microsoft Dynamics 365, the Power Platform, and Power BI.

We've never had a developer of our own, and that's what this role is. You'd be our first, reporting to our Director of Information Technology, with a backlog of business systems work that's been waiting on capacity we didn't have. This role is ideal for someone who wants to own a platform instead of handing it off at go-live, who's comfortable being the most senior technical person in the room, and who would rather build the practice around a system than inherit one.

We also want to be straightforward about what you'd be walking into. There's no engineering team here yet and no release pipeline. Our Dynamics environment works and the business depends on it every day, but the discipline around it still has to be built, and you'd be the one to build it. If that sounds like the opportunity you've been looking for, we'd like to hear from you.

Demonstrating alignment with our core values of Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy (PRIDE), this role sets the technical direction for the systems Synergy runs on.

Requirements

What You'll Do

The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed below. These duties and responsibilities may be modified at any time by Management. Modifications will be in writing and will be acknowledged by both parties.

As our Senior Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Developer, you'll spend your first year on the foundation: clearing the backlog, tightening our integrations, and putting real solution and deployment discipline around a platform that's never had a dedicated developer. Once that's solid, this is the role that leads Synergy into AI and agent-based work on the Microsoft stack, and we're naming that order on purpose. One thing worth saying plainly: you won't carry a ticket queue. Day-to-day support, endpoints, and infrastructure are handled by our internal support team and our managed services provider, and that boundary is real. There are no billable-hour targets and no timesheets here.

You will:

  • Own development across Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM) and the Power Platform: model-driven and canvas Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Dataverse schema and business logic, plugins, custom APIs, and client-side form scripting
  • Extend the platform with C#, JavaScript, and SQL where out-of-the-box stops
  • Design and maintain integrations between Dataverse and the other Microsoft and third-party systems the business depends on
  • Build the Power BI reporting the operating teams and leadership actually use
  • Build SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions supporting document and process workflows
  • Sit with the business, turn a vague request into something that works, then document it and train the people who will use it
  • Set up the engineering practice this platform has never had: source control, environment and solution management, testing, and controlled deployment
  • Prototype and put into production the AI and agent capability that removes manual effort (Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Azure AI). Nobody here has built this yet, so the shape of it is yours to set
  • Work with our outside implementation partners and managed services provider on larger builds, so you are not the only pair of hands on everything

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a developer who's done this work hands-on and can walk us through what they built and the decisions they made along the way. Our strongest candidates tend to come from Microsoft partners and integrators, or from in-house teams at companies that run on Dynamics. You'll be successful if you have:

  • Five or more years building software professionally, including three or more years hands-on in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and the Power Platform (Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Real extension work, beyond configuration alone: C# plugins, JavaScript, and SQL you've written and shipped
  • Solutions you built that are running in production today and that you can walk us through in detail
  • Experience owning environments and solution management, not just building inside someone else's
  • The ability to take a scoped project and run with it: you'll pull the requirements out of non-technical colleagues, make the calls yourself, ship it, and write it down
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong enough to walk a colleague through a technical tradeoff on a call and have them come away knowing what to decide
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. We evaluate demonstrated ability, so relevant hands-on experience, certifications, and a portfolio of shipped work can substitute for a degree.

What Helps

You don't need all of these. If you meet the list above and bring some of these, we'd still encourage you to apply.

  • Power BI semantic models and DAX
  • Azure services, SharePoint, and the wider Microsoft 365 surface
  • Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Azure AI, or comparable AI and intelligent-automation work
  • Application-lifecycle tooling: Azure DevOps, Git, automated deployment
  • Time at a Microsoft implementation partner or integrator, or inside a workflow-heavy service business
  • Current Microsoft certifications (PL-400, AZ-204, and AI-102 are all relevant). What you have shipped counts for more.

Culture of Collaboration

We're a tight-knit team that leads with empathy, supports one another, and believes in winning together. At Synergy, professionalism and kindness go hand in hand, and teamwork is at the core of how we operate. For this role, that's pretty concrete: the technology team is you, our Director of IT, and our IT support staff, so nobody sits between you and the person deciding what gets built. Your users are your colleagues, and you'll watch people use what you built the week it ships. We're proud to be rooted in the Orlando community and to build teams that reflect its diverse, driven talent.

Room to Grow

We invest in our people and reward those who raise the bar:

  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Continuing education and skill-building support
  • Clear promotion pathways for high performers
  • An AI and agent roadmap on the Microsoft stack, in the right order, with the foundation built first

Benefits That Support Life

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your career and your well-being:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Wellness initiatives and community impact opportunities

Schedule and Location

We'd prefer someone in the Orlando area who can work a hybrid schedule from our office, 3 days a week. We're also open to strong remote candidates anywhere in the United States. Either way, one thing worth saying up front: this role collaborates in real time on Eastern hours rather than through a ticket queue. For remote candidates, we'll talk through on-site expectations during the interview process.

This role is performed primarily at a computer workstation, in an office or remote setting.

All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

The Synergy Experience

This is your chance to build the systems behind a company that is changing the game for our clients, our partners, and the injured individuals they serve. Your work here matters, and your growth does too.
