The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administrator / Developer provides technical and systems design expertise for the configuration, development, integration, and ongoing support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to assess needs, recommend fit-for-purpose solutions, and guide decision-making while supporting organizations that are building or maturing their Dynamics 365 environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate in an agile development environment, including sprint planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Design and implement Dynamics 365 solutions and enhancements aligned to platform best practices.
  • Configure and customize Dynamics 365 components including entities, tables, workflows, business rules, forms, views, and dashboards.
  • Customize user experience elements such as command bar actions and themes.
  • Create, manage, and deploy Managed and Unmanaged solutions across environments following established release and ALM processes.

  • Use XrmToolBox to support administration, configuration, metadata management, data operations, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support and maintain integrations between Dynamics 365 and other enterprise systems such as Power BI, ERP platforms, and APIs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation throughout the SDLC including technical designs, configuration details, and deployment or runbook procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for system and process improvements to enhance performance, usability, data quality, and supportability.
  • Provide consultative guidance by evaluating options, explaining trade-offs, and recommending solutions aligned with business goals rather than only executing requested changes.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience administering and developing within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse, including configuration and customization.
  • Hands-on experience creating Managed and Unmanaged solutions and promoting changes across multiple environments.
  • Working knowledge of the Dynamics 365 security model including roles, teams, business units, and permissions.
  • Experience supporting integrations between Dynamics 365 and other enterprise systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly document technical designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Consultative experience working with organizations in implementation or development phases and navigating ambiguous requirements.

Additional requirements:

  • Experience with the Power Platform including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI.
  • Experience with JavaScript customization and C# plugins for Dynamics 365.
  • Familiarity with Azure integration services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Service Bus.
  • Understanding of authentication concepts including OAuth and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management practices in an enterprise environment.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Dynamics 365 and or the Power Platform preferred.
