Job description

TMC Technologies is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) and Small Form Factor (SFF) Program located aboard Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, Indiana. Note, this position is located onsite at customer facilities in Bedford, Indiana or aboard NSWC Crane, Indiana. Duties and Responsibilities: โ€ข Support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of Marine Corps weapon systems and subsystems which may include computer systems, radio sets, power distribution systems, tactical software, etc. โ€ข Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. โ€ข Perform system software installation and modifications for various platforms. โ€ข Assist with development and reviews of technical documentation (e.g., operator manuals, maintenance manuals, plans, procedures, et. al.) for Marine Corps or Navy systems. โ€ข Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data. โ€ข Communicate with leadership, other members of the team, and the customer to ensure a common understanding of requirements, status, action items, issues, etc. โ€ข Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Job Requirements Required Experience and Qualifications: * * Previous CAC2S experience as a Marine Corps 5974 or 5979. * Security + Certification is preferred, or is willing to obtain within four months of hire. * Familiarity with reading 2D engineering drawings and technical manuals to locate parts or components by part number or find number, or by tracing up or down through assemblies. * Mechanically inclined: experienced and comfortable with disassembling and assembling computer, radio, and power distribution subsystems. Familiarity with subsystems typically found in communications platforms such as computers, radios, electrical distribution, electronics, tactical software, etc. * Proficient in data collection and analysis using computer software. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. * Able to work effectively within a team of technicians, engineers, and technical writers. * Required Education Experience: A.S. +6 years experience in related field or High School +8 years experience in related field. * Able to travel 10% of time to Marines Corps locations CONUS and OCONUS.
