Senior Power Platform Developer / Technical Lead

E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc.

Job description

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP (E2) is a professional services firm established in 1988 specializing in a full spectrum of engineering services including, project engineering and design, federal base operations and infrastructure support services, gas pipeline construction and inspection services, environmental consulting and remediation, and information technology services. At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power Platform Developer / Technical Lead to help design, develop, and mature our use of Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365.

This role will initially partner closely with the CTO / Systems Architect of our sister organization on a Power Platform proof of concept and subsequent production initiatives. The successful candidate will bring deep, current platform expertise and help guide solution design, development, integrations, governance, security, and application lifecycle management.

This is a hands-on technical role. We are looking for someone who can both advise on architecture and build solutions, identify platform limitations, challenge assumptions, and recommend when Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure, Microsoft 365, APIs, or custom development are the appropriate tools.

Because Power Platform evolves rapidly, candidates must demonstrate recent, practical knowledge of the platform as it exists today, not simply experience with approaches that were common several years ago.

  • Partner with the CTO / Systems Architect to design secure, maintainable, and scalable Power Platform solutions.
  • Design and develop solutions using Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Dynamics 365, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Design Dataverse data models, relationships, business rules, security models, forms, views, and application components.
  • Design and implement integrations between Power Platform and internal or third-party systems using APIs, custom connectors, Azure services, and other appropriate technologies.
  • Evaluate when functionality belongs in Power Platform versus Azure or traditional application development.
  • Establish reusable architecture patterns, development standards, naming conventions, and governance practices.
  • Design and support Development, Test/UAT, and Production environments.
  • Implement professional application lifecycle management using Solutions, environment variables, connection references, deployment pipelines, source control, and CI/CD where appropriate.
  • Design solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, Dataverse security roles, ownership models, and least-privilege principles.
  • Support Power Platform governance capabilities including Data Loss Prevention policies, connector controls, Managed Environments, auditing, monitoring, and administrative standards.
  • Review solutions for performance, scalability, security, licensing, maintainability, and platform limitations.
  • Stay current with changes across the Power Platform ecosystem and recommend improvements as Microsoft introduces new capabilities and changes recommended practices.
  • Document architectural decisions, development standards, integration patterns, and lessons learned for future initiatives.

  • Significant professional experience building and supporting production Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Platform Solutions, security, and ALM.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365, including configuration, extension, or integration with the broader Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of Dataverse data modeling, relationships, ownership, security, and application architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Power Platform with external business systems.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, working with authentication and authorization, and developing or using custom connectors.
  • Experience implementing structured Development, Test/UAT, and Production environments and repeatable deployment processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 integrations.
  • Ability to independently evaluate technical requirements, identify tradeoffs, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Candidates must also demonstrate current Power Platform expertise, including recent production experience and familiarity with modern environment management, governance, deployment practices, Dataverse capabilities, licensing considerations, and Microsoft’s evolving AI and Copilot capabilities. Candidates should be prepared to discuss how their Power Platform design and development practices have changed as the platform has evolved.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Service, API Management, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Key Vault, and Storage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph.
  • Professional development experience using C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing Dataverse plugins, custom APIs, PCF controls, or other Power Platform extensions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience integrating ERP or other enterprise systems with Dataverse.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Experience establishing Power Platform governance and development standards within an organization.
  • Familiarity with Copilot Studio and AI-enabled Power Platform capabilities

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off.
