Job Description

At Grace, one of our critical positions we routinely hire for is a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer.  This is a role that has significant career growth potential in our organization.  To support the need for hiring talent, we are developing a pool of candidates to support our future staffing needs at the following locations: Columbia or Curtis Bay MD; Chicago, IL; Baton Rouge or Lake Charles, LA; South Haven, MI; Tyrone, PA; Chattanooga, TN; East Chicago, IN; Pasadena, TX.

We are seeking experienced Maintenance and Reliability Engineers to join our Engineering & Maintenance Teams. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and availability of plant equipment, contributing to the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Implement and manage a proactive maintenance program using techniques such as automated vibration monitoring, thermal imaging, and lubrication analysis.
  • Critical Equipment Management: Develop and manage critical equipment lists, preventive maintenance (PM) plans, and spare inventory requirements in SAP.
  • Project Management: Oversee capital and maintenance projects including scope development, planning/scheduling, budgeting, and field construction management.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to the maintenance department for routine issues and manage mechanical/electrical contracts as necessary.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) studies to identify equipment failures and develop corrective actions.
  • Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the Safety Department to ensure compliance with safety protocols and participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs).
  • Budget Management: Manage site maintenance budgets and track maintenance metrics to improve uptime and reduce reactive work.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in a chemical processing or manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years maintenance reliability experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and methodologies such as FMEA and RCA.
  • Experience with SAP's Maintenance Management module
  • Proactive problem-solving approach focused on action
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other maintenance scheduling tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - work with multiple departments to solve problems
  • Knowledge of equipment PdM practices.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
