We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Line Operator to join our dynamic team. If you have a strong background in extrusion operations, leadership experience, and a commitment to quality, we want to hear from you!
Position Overview:
As an Experienced Line Operator at Dura-Line, you will play a critical role in setting up and operating HDPE extrusion lines, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. In addition to operating the line, you will serve as a backup to the Shift Supervisor when needed, showcasing your leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate HDPE extrusion lines, adjusting and documenting operating conditions to meet customer specifications.
  • Serve as a backup to the Shift Supervisor, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Ensure all products are produced free from cosmetic and physical defects and within manufacturing tolerances.
  • Monitor and adjust operating conditions to produce the highest attainable quality of pipe safely and efficiently.
  • Review product and equipment throughout the shift to confirm material and quality requirements are met.
  • Oversee and document the quality of the product run, maintaining accurate inventory transactions.
  • Record "Lost Production Hours," including reasons for lost time, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with other operators to maintain production schedules and make necessary tooling changes.

Requirements:
  • Strong mathematical skills: ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of downstream operator and reel builder job duties.
  • Familiarity with smooth core procedures and operations.
  • Valid lift truck/forklift license is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of extruders, printers, reelers, vacuum systems, chiller systems, resin systems, pullers, quality control standards, and product specifications.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work 12 hours per day, 3-4 days per week.
  • Work primarily indoors on the plant floor, with exposure to heat, dust, and noise. Some outdoor work may be required in any weather condition.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 80-100% of the time; ability to squat, bend, or stoop as needed.
  • Proficiency in operating hand and pneumatic powered strapping tools, chains, slings, hooks, and keyboard on microprocessor equipment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and push/pull pipe stalks and coils.
  • Ability to get into and out of lift trucks and other mobile equipment, staying alert to mobile machinery.
  • Capacity to cope with the pressures of continuously running extrusion equipment in a 24-hour period.
  • Willingness to wear necessary safety equipment, including dust masks, earplugs, and face shields.
  • Ability to climb ladders, listen to equipment, inspect product for defects, and sense temperature changes in the finished product.

The compensation for this position will typically start at $19.25 Per hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
