Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Field Installer in Phoenix, AZ. The Field Installer is responsible for the day-to-day installation and startup activities for HVAC systems, focusing on ductwork, equipment setting, and system maintenance. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical layouts, and a commitment to maintaining professional quality standards in a fast-paced field environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $26 to $30 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day installation and start-up activities for HVAC units and components.
  • Set and secure air handlers and furnaces according to project specifications.
  • Complete the installation of branch runs and demonstrate proficiency in running main trunk lines.
  • Install and route line sets, exhaust fans, and associated terminations.
  • Run low-voltage wiring and ensure all duct work is sealed cleanly and professionally.
  • Locate supply and return runs based on plan layouts and perform necessary cutting and drilling of holes.
  • Install air and water filters and adjust system controls as required.
  • Lubricate fans, motors, and control units as part of routine equipment maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and report progress or damaged materials to the Field Foreman throughout the day.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and flexibility to work outside normal hours or weekends when required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HVAC field installation or a related mechanical trade.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to run main trunk lines and branch runs independently.
  • Proficiency in running line sets and installing exhaust fan systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret project layouts, plans, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to run and terminate low-voltage wiring.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail regarding quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting whereabouts and progress to site leadership.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy HVAC equipment including furnaces and air handlers.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to stand, kneel, stoop, and bend for extended periods during installation.
  • Manual dexterity to use hand and power tools for cutting, drilling, and sealing ductwork.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions typical of a construction jobsite.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $26 to $30 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
