Job description

Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator 
Location: Tulsa, OK

Join Our Team at American Power Innovations

American Power Innovations is seeking a EHS Coordinator to support the design and development of power distribution centers (PDCs) and modular electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


Position Summary

This is a highly visible, hands-on EHS position. The EHS Coordinator is expected to spend the majority of their time in production and manufacturing areas, actively engaging employees, identifying hazards, providing coaching, and supporting the implementation of EHS programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of OSHA general industry requirements.
  • Working knowledge of FMCSA requirements.
  • Basic understanding of incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to conduct workplace inspections and identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and new-hire safety orientation.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with employees regarding safe work practices, PPE, procedures, and observed hazards.
  • Ability to communicate safety expectations, focusing on coaching and engagement.
  • Maintain required EHS records, inspection documentation, training records, and other routine safety documentation.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities and work independently with general direction.
  • Ability and willingness to spend approximately 80-85% of the workday on the manufacturing floor.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred.
  • 0-4 years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or other industrial environments.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience considered.
