Position Overview: Fabick Cat is a leading provider of power generation solutions, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators up to 3000 kW. We are committed to delivering reliable and efficient power solutions to our clients across various industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CAT power generators up to 3000KW, including those powered by natural gas, biogas, and diesel.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of generators.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with generators and related equipment.
  • Perform load bank testing and other diagnostic procedures to assess generator performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and parts inventory.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding generator operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all service activities.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in power generation.
  • Interact with commercial customers to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of power generators, preferably 50KW up to 3000 kW.
  • Strong knowledge of CAT generator systems, including diesel and gas engines, electrical components, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
  • Knowledge of control panels and switchgear is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as needed.
  • Technician travel will consist within the Wisconsin and be assigned to the territory surrounding the branch of hire. Average of 45 hours per week, but additional OT is offered if desired. Less than 15% of overnight travel annually.
