Job description

We are recruiting a Lead Power/HVAC Technician to support a busy rental equipment operation in the Reno/Sparks, NV market. This is a primarily shop-based leadership role responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining generators, commercial HVAC, and related power equipment while providing day-to-day technical support to a small team of technicians.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded generator technician with leadership potential or previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, Service Writer, or Service Planner. Strong experience with generators above 100 kW is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on generators, commercial HVAC, and diesel-powered rental equipment
  • Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel diagnostics on power generation equipment
  • Oversee daily shop workflow while providing technical guidance and support to at least two technicians
  • Assist with work order management, scheduling priorities, and ensuring timely completion of repairs
  • Perform equipment inspections, testing, and quality checks prior to customer delivery
  • Complete service documentation and maintain a high standard of safety and customer service

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience servicing generators, diesel-powered equipment, or commercial HVAC systems
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing generators rated above 100 kW
  • Previous leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and support other technicians
  • Experience managing work orders, shop workflow, or service operations is preferred
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Own standard technician tools
