Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Power and Industrial Engineering Team in Bothell, WA. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of electrical systems for power generation and industrial projects, working closely with electrical leads and multidisciplinary teams from concept through completion.
Your role

In this position, you will contribute to the successful execution of electrical design projects by supporting engineering teams and producing high-quality design deliverables. Key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Electrical Lead to prepare electrical designs for assigned projects.

  • Participate in design efforts from concept development through final project completion.

  • Assist senior engineers with design, coordination, and documentation tasks.

  • Design and select electrical systems and components, including:

    • Electrical equipment
    • Single-line diagrams
    • Cable sizing, tray and raceway systems (above and underground)
    • Grounding systems
    • Lighting and lightning protection systems
    • Equipment layouts and arrangements
  • Coordinate electrical design requirements with other engineering disciplines.

  • Prepare and coordinate drawing packages for internal and external issue.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project objectives.

About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or an equivalent technical discipline plus a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; orAssociate's degree plus a minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive drafting and design experience, including at least four (4) years in a Designer role; orHigh School diploma (or equivalent) plus a minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive drafting and design experience, including at least seven (7) years in a Designer role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design for power generation facilities, public utility power distribution systems, or similar industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design and drafting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with lighting calculation software such as Visual.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam.
  • Strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Experience with Revit and/or SmartPlant design tools preferred.
