Electronics Manufacturing Engineer Lead end-to-end electronics manufacturing from prototype to full-rate production Location: Seattle, WashingtonDenver, Colorado Compensation: $80,499 - 112,698 USD / year About The Role Electronics Manufacturing Engineer

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're looking for an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to join our Core Systems & Components group and play a key role in advancing the design, development, and production of complex electronic systems. In this role you will work closely with our COMSEC and Electrical Hardware Design teams to ensure that electronics manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support electronics manufacturing engineering activities across the full product development lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with the COMSEC and Electrical Hardware teams to ensure manufacturability and design compliance
  • Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and assembly procedures
  • Drive new product introduction (NPI) and oversee the transition from prototype to full-rate production
  • Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) reviews
  • Support PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly processes in coordination with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing defects, process failures, and quality issues through root cause analysis
  • Partner with supply chain and procurement teams to qualify vendors and manage component sourcing
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with applicable standards, specifications, and security requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing engineering or a related hardware discipline
  • Hands-on experience with PCB fabrication, assembly, and test processes
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent)
  • Experience conducting DFM/DFT reviews and working with CAD/EDA tools
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional hardware and software teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience supporting COMSEC, defense, or aerospace electronics programs
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality management systems
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and functional test development
  • IPC certifications (CIS, CIT, or equivalent)

Base Pay Range for:

CO applicants is $80,499.00 - $112,697.55 WA applicants is $87,816.00 - $122,942.40 Other site ranges may differ

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
