Job description

Every day, our team members do amazing things in pursuit of our shared purpose to build trust with our clients, partners, subcontractors, and teammates. No matter your background, education, or career path, if you share our vision to create extraordinary experiences, you belong at HITT.

Manager, Analytics & BI Product Job Description:

HITT Contracting is seeking a Manager of Analytics & BI Product to lead the team that builds, maintains, and continuously improves HITTโ€™s business intelligence and data products and platformsโ€”spanning enterprise BI and reporting (Power BI and comparable tools), the curated Gold layer and governed semantic layer (dimensional models, KPIs/metrics), MDM and data stewardship, and predictive capabilities embedded in BI products.

This is a handsโ€‘on leadership role for a productโ€‘minded builder: someone who is happiest close to the workโ€”shaping backlogs, pressureโ€‘testing the product portfolio and demand signals, clearing blockers, and helping a small BI team ship. As a playerโ€‘coach, this leader will personally build and maintain BI products of their own, such as dashboards, semantic models, and stewardship workflows, alongside the team. The specific platforms, data domains, and assets in scope will evolve over time; the mandate will not: deliver trusted, wellโ€‘governed BI products and capabilities that elevate the business of building.

Reporting to the Director of Product, this person manages HITTโ€™s Analytics & BI podโ€”a small, lean teamโ€”and is accountable for what the pod delivers. This leader owns the Analytics & BI product portfolio and roadmap end to end: partnering with Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, IT, other departments and business unit leaders to identify the highestโ€‘value problems, translate them into clear product opportunities, sequence the backlog, and drive delivery through rapid, iterative cycles. Because HITT builds products and software for builders, everything this role ships must earn adoption in highโ€‘velocity, decentralized field environmentsโ€”on jobsites, in trailers, and in officesโ€”across a diverse range of user personas. The specific tools, data domains, assets, stewardship processes, and survivorship rules will evolve, but the charge is durable: keep the pod focused on what matters most, keep the data trustworthy, keep it shipping, continuously raise the standard, and build highโ€‘value analytics and BI capabilities for the enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Product Portfolio & Roadmap Own the Analytics & BI roadmap across Power BI, the Gold/Semantic Layer, MDM, and Data Stewardship, prioritizing investments based on business value, adoption, and potential impact.
  • Lead iterative backlog and business painโ€‘point discovery with Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations, and other business partners to identify the highestโ€‘value problems; translate them into clear requirements, prioritized backlogs, and wellโ€‘sequenced releases.
  • Partner with other product principals and Engineering leadership within EBS to translate upstream needsโ€”including new data sources, Bronze/Silver layer changes, and pipeline reliabilityโ€”into roadmap priorities, product requirements, and coordinated delivery.
  • Agile Build & Delivery Personally build and maintain BI dashboards, Goldโ€‘layer dimensional models and star schemas, and the governed semantic layer (KPIs and metrics)โ€”this role ships product, not just backlogs.
  • Define, configure, monitor, and extend MDM and data stewardship workflows, including goldenโ€‘record rules, match/merge logic, and data quality checks.
  • Run the pod handsโ€‘onโ€”shape backlogs, clear blockers, review releases, and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Embed lightweight predictive capabilities into BI productsโ€”such as trend forecasts and anomaly flagsโ€”where they create clear business value, without standing up a full ML platform.
  • Partnership, Adoption & Talent Build and develop a highโ€‘performing, productโ€‘minded pod with strong product judgment, technical fluency, and AIโ€‘enabled ways of working; raise the bar on how the team discovers, builds, and ships.
  • Own adoption as a product outcome, building strong relationships with field and business partners and using enablement, feedback loops, and usage analytics to drive sustained usage and value.
  • Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs, progress, and outcomes clearly across the organization, leveraging BI pod demos as a primary forum to showcase what is shipping, gather feedback, connect user needs to product decisions, and align the work to broader business priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ years in BI product management, product delivery, analytics/BI leadership, or a closely related technical/product role.
  • 2+ years of handsโ€‘on experience building or maintaining enterprise BI products, with meaningful depth in areas such as Power BI, dimensional modeling/semantic layers, MDM, or data stewardship.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team, pod, or significant crossโ€‘functional workstream.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally build and maintain production Analytics & BI products, including Power BI dashboards, Goldโ€‘layer dimensional models/star schemas, governed semantic layers, and MDM/data stewardship workflows.
  • Experience owning a product portfolio or roadmap, translating business problems into product opportunities and requirements, prioritizing backlogs based on business value and evidence, and leading iterative & agile delivery through production releases.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise BI, dimensional modeling, semantic layers, KPIs/metrics, MDM, and data stewardship, with the technical fluency to make sound product and architecture tradeoffs.
  • Experience leading a small team or crossโ€‘functional workstream while remaining handsโ€‘on in the product; able to shape the work, remove blockers, review what ships, and raise the teamโ€™s product and technical standard.
  • Strong communicator who can work across business and technical stakeholders, from field users and functional leaders to executives, and who treats adoption, feedback, and measurable business value as product outcomes.

In accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 Compensation in other cities and states may vary.

  • performanceโ€‘based bonuses
  • premium health care coverage including vision and dental
  • employerโ€‘matched 401(k)
  • wellness reimbursement program
  • paid holidays and timeโ€‘off
  • other voluntary benefits and leave types

The determination of salary is based on the candidateโ€™s individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
