Job description

Job Title: Data Solution Architect (Snowflake)

Location: Dublin, CA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Job Type: 6+ Months

We are seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect with strong expertise in Snowflake to lead the design and implementation of a modern enterprise data platform. This role will play a key part in a strategic initiative to establish Snowflake as the organization's primary data platform while supporting the migration from Netezza and building a scalable Single Version of Truth (SVT) architecture.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with strong communication skills and can collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.

 Responsibilities
  • Design and architect enterprise data solutions using Snowflake as the primary data platform.
  • Lead architecture discussions for data migration from legacy platforms such as Netezza to Snowflake.
  • Define best practices for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and reporting.
  • Design scalable data models using Medallion Architecture and modern data warehousing principles.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on data ingestion using StreamSets or similar technologies.
  • Support DBT-based data transformation and implement efficient ELT pipelines.
  • Create proof of concepts (POCs) to evaluate architecture patterns and technical approaches.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Develop business use cases and support enterprise dashboard initiatives using Power BI and MicroStrategy.
  • Ensure data platform security, governance, scalability, and performance best practices.
  • Work closely with solution architects, SI partners, and cross-functional teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams on modern data architecture practices.
 Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Data Architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, administration, and implementation.
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
  • Expertise with DBT for data transformation and ELT development.
  • Strong understanding of data ingestion strategies, including CDC, batch, and incremental loading.
  • Experience with SQL data modeling and tools such as SQL DBM or similar.
  • Knowledge of Medallion Architecture and modern data lakehouse concepts.
  • Experience with StreamSets or similar data ingestion platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python for architecture validation and rapid POCs.
  • Experience supporting reporting platforms such as Power BI and MicroStrategy.
  • Understanding of Snowflake security, governance, performance optimization, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience migrating enterprise data warehouses from Netezza to Snowflake.
  • Exposure to data governance platforms such as Alation.
  • Experience working in cloud-based analytics environments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance and metadata management.
  • Experience collaborating with system integrators and enterprise architecture teams.
