SENIOR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER

SALARY: $100k - $150k plus discretionary bonus

LOCATION: Chicago, IL hybrid 3-4 days onsite 1-2 days remote

Looking for a candidate with 5 years power BI, strong SQL data querying across relational and cloud native data sources. You will have hands on experience building semantic models calculated measures and KPIs using DAX and power query.


The team is driving a firm-wide BI transformation, consolidating reporting from Cognos, SSRS, and other legacy systems into a modern Power BI + Databricks ecosystem. Hence, needing a Power BI Specialist.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role with the opportunity to shape how analytics is delivered across the business while working closely with stakeholders on critical reporting needs.
Designing and building Power BI dashboards and reports
Developing semantic/data models where needed
Translating business requirements into technical specifications
Partnering with stakeholders (Finance, Marketing, etc.) to define KPIs
Collaborating with data engineers when new data ingestion is required
Supporting migration from legacy tools (Cognos, SSRS)
Breakdown: ~80% hands-on development, ~20% stakeholder engagement
