Location: Washington, DC / DOJ Facilities / JMD OCIO / NCC
Clearance or Background Needs: U.S. Citizen; active Secret clearance minimum; DOJ suitability/Public Trust; Top Secret eligibility preferred
Experience Band: 3–5 years
Openings: 1 FTE Summary The Performance/Data Analyst I supports DOJ JMD/OCIO and HSTF by collecting, validating, analyzing, and visualizing investigative, performance, and program data from DOJ MIS and interagency sources. This role assists with Tableau dashboards, statistical summaries, quarterly performance evaluations, and data quality support. The analyst helps preserve continuity of MIS operations and supports reporting to DOJ leadership, Congress, NCC, and partner agencies. Key Responsibilities
Collect, validate, process, and analyze HSTF-designated case and performance data from DOJ MIS.
Build and maintain reports, charts, dashboards, and recurring performance summaries.
Use Excel, Python, R, SQL, and Tableau to extract, clean, analyze, and visualize data.
Support quarterly HSTF performance evaluations and document issues, anomalies, and trends.
Assist with statistical summaries of investigative outcomes, asset forfeitures, seizures, and program metrics.
Maintain dashboard data sources and support data refreshes.
Assist with data quality reviews, audit dashboards, and remediation tracking.
Prepare clear analytical summaries for technical, operational, and executive audiences.
Support transition documentation, data dictionaries, and business rule documentation.
Follow DOJ privacy, security, data governance, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field.
3+ years of applied data science, data analytics, business intelligence, or performance reporting experience.
Active Secret clearance.
U.S. citizenship by birth or naturalization.
Proficiency with Excel, Python, R, and Tableau or equivalent BI tools.
SQL experience for querying, extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Experience working with large statistical, operational, law enforcement, financial, or government datasets.
Ability to validate, clean, merge, and document structured data.
Experience preparing dashboards, charts, reports, and analytical summaries.
Familiarity with data quality controls, documentation, and repeatable reporting processes.
Ability to work in a secure federal environment with sensitive information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Prior DOJ, DHS, law enforcement, intelligence, or federal consulting experience.
Experience with HSTF, asset forfeiture, criminal investigations, or interagency data.
Experience supporting MIS, case management, or performance management systems.
Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data dictionaries.
Experience supporting audit readiness, reconciliation, or financial reporting.
Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, CUI, PII, and federal data governance.
Top Secret eligibility or active TS clearance.
Tableau Server, Power BI, Alteryx, SAS, or GIS exposure.
