Walters Wholesale Electric Company, an affiliate of USESI, is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy HR Intern to join our team in Brea, CA.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who enjoys working with systems, organizing information, and building efficient processes from the ground up.
Hours: Part-Time; In-Person
Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and manage employee training completion using tools such as Excel, Microsoft Lists, or similar systems; follow up with employees and managers to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Support onboarding processes by organizing new hire documentation, maintaining checklists, and helping ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all new employees.
  • Assist in building and maintaining tracking systems for HR processes, including training, onboarding, and compliance-related activities.
  • Help establish and improve HR workflows by identifying gaps, organizing manual processes, and recommending more efficient solutions.
  • Audit and maintain HR records (I-9s, employee files, training records) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and legal requirements.
  • Assist in creating and updating process documentation, SOPs, and simple guides to support consistency across HR activities.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the HR team, with a focus on organization, data accuracy, and process improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in HR operations, systems, and process improvement.
  • Comfortable working with data and tracking tools; intermediate Excel skills (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, or similar tools is strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, especially when managing multiple trackers and deadlines.
  • Ability to follow structured processes while also identifying opportunities to improve them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, proactive, and eager to learn with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
